WHAT TO EXPECT:
First Visit:
Please allow 45 minutes for your first visit. A thorough approach ensures that you will be provided with the highest standard of chiropractic care.
Please arrive on time to ensure that we can stay on schedule for all of our patients.
Prior to consultation:
Upon entering the clinic, we will ask you to fill in our new patient forms. These forms provide us with your health history and information on your condition. If you have any spinal x-rays or MRIs taken before, please bring it with you.
Also if you require a medical doctor’s referral (GP) for insurance purposes please bring it with you.
During your consultation:
The chiropractic doctor will review your intake form and discuss your condition with you to ensure we have a complete picture of your health.
Next, a physical examination will be done, including postural assessment, orthopaedic and neurological tests as indicated. If spinal x-rays are needed to complete our assessment, you will be referred to a local radiology centre.
Your examination findings will then be explained to you, giving you information and options available regarding your care and your health. If, after your assessment is complete it is deemed appropriate for your condition, chiropractic care will commence, including adjustments.
Regular Visits:
A typical regular visit may require just 5-15 minutes. It is a misconception to think that the shortness of a regular visit reduces its value! A chiropractic adjustment is performed very quickly and specifically. It has a powerful effect on the nervous system and you will often find that you feel much better after only a few seconds of treatment.
With the foundation laid during your initial visits, we can quickly assess the requirements of your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way.
We are aware that your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and to minimise the impact on your busy life. It is just like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. It is important to follow the chiropractic doctor’s advice regarding the scheduling of your visits. Too far apart and the body has too much time to fall back into old patterns, slowing your healing.
